Back in 1982 pacing was eh… different? We present for consideration “The Forest”

Slow Robot A Go-Go Show 126 – The Forest

Tonight Dr. Morbius (from parts unknown) and mOw talk about Documentaries and how they affect your perspective of events and people in the doc. After that they take a spooky walk through a forest filled with precocious little ghost scamps, a strange cannibal father and lots of early 80s action. Listen, laugh and love won’t you? thank you.

Slow Robot A Go-Go is now part of the SLICE RADIO family!  Also, please join the New “CREATURE FEATURE with Doc and Clown” video projects facebook group to get the inside scoop on all our wacky shenanigans. But never mind all that… here is THIS?!?!

  1. *Sigh* I really wanted to join you guys in your journey through “The Forest”. Damn those inevitable “unforeseen circumstances”! I really hope to make good on my promise (threat?) to dive into the madness with you boys by September.

Since I thought I was going to be in the land of the dorks, I certainly did do my homework. Some random thoughts about “The Forest” : * If for any reason you want to instantly put yourself in the darkest mood of your life, just agree to go camping. All of these people were at each others throats the instant their auto’s ignitions were engaged.

*Steve (or was it Charlie?) tells the park ranger they’ll be camping for “5 or 6 days”. WHAT!!! 5 OR 6 DAYS!!! ARE THEY NUTS!!??

*Psycho- daddy looks very, very much like my OTR truck-driving brother-in-law. Scary.

*Can you believe that after the repairman was caught in the sack with psycho-daddy’s wife, HE STUCK AROUND TO DO HIS WORK!!?? Wow…I wonder if he would have discounted the bill?

*2nd best line in the movie; as the ghost-kids were in fear of their mother’s coming, Sharon (or Teddi?) says, “How can she hurt you if you’re dead?” Yuck, yuck, yuck…

*At the end of the flick, as the ghost-kids were leaving, I think I would have asked them to please send some help. I think the “surviving” couple actually perished from exposure a short time later.

*The best line of the movie: as psycho-daddy is about to dispatch his first victim he says. “I don’t want to hurt you but I’m starving to death!” Oh, the times have I heard that said to me….

*Note to Dr. Morbius : Did you know that Leo Fong was thanked in the closing credits?

*Personally, I’ve never cared for camping. It’s just too “in tents” for my temperment.

    Courage…. K. Marshall Joust
